Frequently asked questions

Hopefully this answers most of your questions - feel free to reach out with any more - [email protected]

What is this all about?

We are moving to a membership model because it turns out it is incredibly hard to get insurance for a bike club if it doesn't have a clearly defined membership structure.

Is this some sort of cash grab?

I would hope by now you would have realized that GIVE UP does not make any money, but if you have not realized this yet: No. There are two different membership options: Free and Paid. There are no differences between these two options other than the "Paid" option costs money to help offset insurance costs.

How do I join?

Click Join the club and fill in the application (your details, an emergency contact and a membership option). We'll email you a link to confirm your address. Then a club admin reviews your application, and once you're approved we'll email you the next steps.

Who can join?

Anyone 18 or older who wants to ride bikes with us and isn't going to be creepy or mean to other members.

What do I have to sign?

Every member signs the club's release of liability each membership term. You'll read it in the portal, type your name to sign, and get a signed PDF copy by email.

How long does membership last?

Memberships are annual, running between February 1st through January 31st of each year.

How do I sign in?

There's no password. Enter your email on the sign-in page and click the link we send you. It expires after 30 minutes, so just request a new one if it's old.

I didn't get the sign-in email

Check your spam or promotions folder, and make sure you typed the address you joined with. Still nothing? Get in touch below.

How do I update my address or emergency contact?

Once you're a member, use Profile, address and emergency contacts on your home page.

This doesn't seem very punk rock of you

Sometimes being bike dad means making responsible decisions.

I don't trust a group of degenerate bicyclists with my credit card information.

Conveniently for both of us, neither do I. Payment is handled externally by Stripe and we don't actually see your payment information.

Who do I contact with questions?

Email [email protected].
